If you aren’t already doing it this way, take the center out and then try to hold it to drill. You should be able to hold onto it well enough to either bore it or crossdrill it with a vise or vise grips.
I am thinking…dangerous, I know, that after reading some reports here about how some rollers/sliders vary in weight all over the place that maybe this adds to the fast demise of our variator bushings?
Scales like I use are all over ebay for $5-10. I’ve bought 2 in that price range (each has a different resolution and max weight) and both have held up well and seem to be accurate enough for what I’m doing.
I agree with drilling them. Messing them up.I have about a quart jar of heavy rollers. May try Brents method of removing the center then a small hose clamp small vise grips then drill.
